Founded in 2006, the Regional Women's Lobby for Peace, Security and Justice in Southeast Europe brings together women politicians and activists from the region who are committed to the goals of deepening human security, promoting women's rights and participation in decision-making processes and breaking barriers of ethno-centric politics.
The 18 founding members came together in strategic meetings in 2007 and 2008, during which they created a Platform outlining their mission, goals, strategies and membership criteria. In the first wave of enlargement, which occurred in 2008, 9 new members joined the Lobby, bringing the total number of members to 27 from the 7 different countries of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
